Space Availability - Houston Christian University Moody Library

HCU Moody Library has four study rooms available for students, faculty, and staff to use. 

1. Hicks 1 (Room 206) - smallest of the rooms and seats a maximum of four people. There is no window. 
2. Hicks 2 (Room 207) - seats a maximum of six people and has a window. 
3. Special Collections (Room 204) - seats a maximum of five people and has a window. 
4. Bradley (Room 205) - largest of the rooms and seats a maximum of twelve people.  

Please be aware of the following: 

• Study rooms are located in the quiet wing. We expect users to approach and exit their rooms quietly in respect of nearby students. 
• Study rooms are not soundproof and loud sounds can carry beyond the room into the quiet area. Please keep conversations at normal volume. 
• Power strips are available for use in the rooms. 
• Please arrive about 5-10 minutes early so we can get you checked in and open the room. 
• When booking rooms, please use only your HCU Email address for status confirmation. You must confirm your room booking, otherwise, it will not be saved. 

Reservations are held for 10 minutes only after the assigned time before the room is released. Please be on time! 

1. Patrons may schedule a room up to but no more than two hours per day. Room bookings are set in 15-minute increments. You can book one 15-minute slot, two slots for 30 minutes, etc. up to two hours per day. You do not have to book rooms for the entire two hours. 
2. With the exception of the Bradley Room (largest room), rooms are small and designed to best accommodate four users. 
3. Users may not bring additional furniture into the rooms. 
4. Users must allow the librarians access to the collections in the room if needed.  
5. Users must leave their student identification card at the Circulation Desk until the allotted time is up. 
6. Users are expected to straighten and clean the room as well as remove all personal belongings and trash. 
7. The Bradley Room is the preferred room for larger groups of 6-8 people. Smaller groups can use the room if the others are full but may be reassigned as needed to accommodate larger groups.
